About the Fond

Sometimes materials end up in the archive where it is almost impossible to know where they came from or where it is difficult to assign them. Nevertheless, we process them, because they can also become a source of further knowledge. We call these collections of randomly discovered individual documents, artificially created in the past and linked by common features, varia. We also make these archival materials available in the study room.

Where to study the archives?

The collection is available for research and study to anyone with an interest in cinema. Simply provide proof of your research purpose and order archival materials to the research room in the centre of Prague. We will be happy to advise you on the procedure or selection of archival materials.
