Thematic searches
We answer questions and conduct expert thematic research throughout the collection of Národní filmový archiv. We provide data on film works and film-related documents. Search services are charged according to the current price list, and you will be notified of the estimated cost before the search begins. Please contact us using the online form.

Movie previews
For digitised audiovisual titles, a preview version can be provided for study purposes.
Research in the audiovisual collection
If you would like to preview the film for study purposes, please use one of the forms above. If you would like to examine the film material directly, please email reserse@nfa.cz.
Your application should include:
- The title and a brief description of the topic you are working on.
- The reason why you want to see the film material (e.g. the content or material aspect of the film)
If this is an unprocessed part of the collection, the evaluation of your request will depend on the context of your request, the condition of the film materials, and the time capacity of the NFA's professional staff.

How much time does it take to search?
As a standard, we produce research within ten working days. In the case of larger searches, this time can be extended. You would be informed of this in advance.
How much will I pay for the search?
The searches are governed by the current price list. Before we start the search, we will write you an estimate of the time required and mutually agree on the terms.

How to proceed?
Once you have received your research, you can decide which of the materials you will use based on the information you have found. For example, if you want to use them for a book, documentary or program, please contact our sales department for the terms and conditions of consent to use.
