As a graduate of library school, I joined the Czechoslovak Film Institute (now the Národní filmový archiv) in 1987 in the documentation department (filmography, photography, posters...). Then I moved to the Filmotheque, where I got to know the work with film prints and participated in the process of archiving them. Here I also had the opportunity to learn more about the history of cinema. Subsequently, I started working at the NFA Library as a cataloguer of film literature, I participated in the complete retrospective processing of the collection of film scripts, and later I took over the extensive collection of film periodicals, which I process retrospectively and currently, and I am involved in the analytical description of articles for selected Czech titles. By working in several departments of the NFA I have gained a comprehensive picture of its activities in the field of preserving audiovisual and non-audiovisual film collections and I am putting my experience to good use in my cataloguing practice. The results of my work are available in the library's online catalog.
