This year the Slovak Film Institute will celebrate its 60th anniversary and the National Film Archive will celebrate its 80th anniversary. Both institutions have therefore decided to commemorate these anniversaries with selected programmes.
The main idea was to present exceptional works with accompanying comments by authors, memorials and curators. We focused on works that illustrate the work of film archives, issues of preservation, digitisation and presentation. Programmes offering different perspectives on the work of both film archives will be presented at Ponrep in Prague and reciprocally in Bratislava in the autumn, at the newly opened Cinema Lumière.
