Summary
The legendary film The Toy Riot (1947) is the first film by Hermina Týrlová combining puppet animation with actors' action. In this politically-themed grotesque, an evil and haughty SS man becomes the deservedly punished victim of the wooden toys of master Hoblik, who had to flee from him. The wooden figures (some of which were bought directly from toy shops), thanks to their cooperation, first resist the German's cruelty, then take perfect revenge and force him to make a shameful escape. - Even today, the film surprises with its impeccable professional portrayal. -tbk-
