I am a film historian, a graduate of the Institute of Film and Audiovisual Culture at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno. Since July 2014 I have been employed at the Národní filmový archiv as an editor of the Filmový přehled portal and since December 2017 I have been working there as a filmographer and cataloguer. In 2016-2018 I participated in the research project Virtual Assistant for access to historical audiovisual data (supported by the NAKI II programme). In 2019, I collaborated on the challenging digital restoration of Gustav Machatý's Extase (1932) and participated in its screening at the 76th Venice International Film Festival. I am interested in the history of Czech cinema. Three volumes of my research on the local film history of the Česká Třebová region have been published by the Česká Třebová Municipal Museum under the umbrella title Filmová Česká Třebová. The second volume was awarded the City of Česká Třebová Kohout Prize for 2020. I contribute texts to professional print and online periodicals(Illuminace, Film a doba, Filmový přehled) and occasionally to film festivals (Karlovy Vary, Ostrov nad Ohří, Venice). I am also engaged in lecturing and popularization activities.
