I graduated in theatre and musicology at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague, and I have been working at the NFA (formerly the ČFÚ or ČSFÚ) since the early 1980s. As a researcher, I am dedicated to historical research of cinema in the Czech lands in international and cultural-historical contexts. I have published a number of scientific studies, and I am also an editor of archival sources of official and personal nature (correspondence, memoirs). Since the mid-1990s, I have been active as a teacher at the Department of Film Studies at the Faculty of Arts, where, in addition to my own teaching, I also supervise dissertations, master's and bachelor's theses.
