The Národní filmový archiv has joined the Association of European Film Archives (ACE) project A Season of Classic Films, which aims to bring classic films to a younger audience, but also the importance of taking care of film heritage. It is one of the twenty-two participating institutions. The project is financially supported by the EU Creative Europe programme.
A film has never been silent. This term refers to films that had to be accompanied by live music and movement because the technique of recording sound on film stock had not yet been invented. Just as at the time of their creation, when films were accompanied by pianists and musical ensembles with a varied repertoire of more or less popular music, we present these films today with contemporary music.
