About the film distribution
The aim of the digital restoration was to make the film as close as possible to the way it was seen by the audience when it was first shown in 1964. The film therefore retains elements that were created during filming or laboratory processing and are therefore evidence of the technology and creative processes of the time.
The source for the digitisation was the film materials stored at the National Film Archive. The image was digitised from the original negative, the sound from the sound negative.
The restoration of the image was carried out under the supervision of the National Film Archive in the Universal Productions Partners studio, the restoration of the sound in the Soundsquare studio in Prague in 2018.
