I have been working at the Národní filmový archiv since 2016. I started as a curator of specialist DVD and Blu-ray editions, and now I am a researcher and editor of the peer-reviewed journal Ilumination. In my research work at the university and archival level, I focus on contemporary film and media theory, early cinema, found footage, and so-called videographic criticism, an emerging approach in the digital humanities that enables the investigation of film through audiovisual means. I have already published a number of studies in prestigious journals in the field (NECSUS, Film-Philosophy, Quarterly Review of Film and Video, etc.) and am the author of the monograph Affect, Expression, Performance: Transformations of Melodramatic Excess in the Cinematography of the Body (Prague: FF UK, 2018). I am currently working on a collective monograph on the digitization of Jan Kříženecký's films with my colleagues at the NFA and a book edition of my dissertation "Aesthetics of the Crack-Up" with Bloomsbury Academic.
